Contro Valve Inc. has authorized repair centers certified for the assembly, repair, and testing of valves and instruments.

We have facilities in 5 locations including Quebec (Brossard), Ontario (Sarnia, Burlington and Thunder Bay) and Manitoba (Brandon) with over 80,000 square feet of space for assembly, verification and repair of valves. In addition, we have over 33 certified technicians to serve the territory. Our substantial workforce allows us to handle large plant shutdowns with tight deadlines. Our shop facilities are further supported by our mobile trailer repair units equipped for valve repair and testing on liquid and gas (air) in situ or elsewhere on-site at the customer’s facilities.

Safety Valves

Our technicians are trained by the manufacturers of safety valves, particularly Baker Hughes/Consolidated and Baker Hughes/Apollo. We are a Baker Hughes Green Tag repair center.

Safety valve testing capabilities include;

• Steam boilers with a 64 cu. ft. Accumulator up to 1200 psig (2000 psig using the EVT-Pro) allowing us to accurately:
  • verified set pressure
  • verfified the operating range
  • Establish and confirm minimum lift
• Air testing with a 18.7 cu. Ft. Accumulator delivering up to 1500 psig
  • Hydraulic tests on water for maximum test pressures ranging from 1500 to 4500 psig
  • An EVT-Pro that allows us to verify the set pressure of the safety valves while they are in service. (air, gas, steam) This appliance is calibrated at least once per year by the manufacturer
  • On-site services include in-situ machining and valve testing

Can assist with on-site equipment surveys of installed valves (safety and control) to determine condition of equipment and develop programmed maintenance schedules.

Onsite oxygen cleaning services available with a fully equipped and dedicated mobile unit.

For each safety valve checked, adjusted or repaired, a repair report is completed. We use the ValvKeep® software for valve management and to track repair history. Through an internet portal, a centralized database makes it possible to visualize the history and obtain the on the recommended repair.

Control Valves

Contro Valve Inc. is a Masoneilan Authorized Repair Center (MARC), recognized for new valve assembly and repair of many control valve brands. We are a distributor, assembler and exclusive repair center for Masoneilan products for all of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba and the Atlantic Provinces. Our technicians have received certified training to service a wide variety of valve manufacturers especially Masoneilan.

Here are the tests we have to offer for control valves:

• Hydrostatic test to check for body leaks
• Verification of seat tightness using an air test bench to meet Class I, II, II, IV, VI as well as Class V standards on the liquid.
• Valve functionality test using Valscope
• Hydraulic water tests up to 10000 psig

For each repaired control valve, a repair report is completed using the ValvKeep® software.

Instrumentation

We have a 3,000 ft2 staffed facility with factory trained technicians and engineers to service and repair a wide variety of measurement, process control and gas detection equipment. Our technicians are able to perform service on site or in our workshops and are available to respond to most urgencies on a 24 hour, round the clock, basis.

Our technicians are trained and certified by Vega Americas Inc for the commissioning and diagnosis of all level measuring instruments for the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. Whether for a radar, a level reading by pressure or commissioning of a nuclear product for level, density or weight on a conveyor our technicians will be able to support you.

Our technicians also have Yokogawa Corporation of America certification for the commissioning and diagnosis of all pressure, flow, temperature, controllers, data logging, lasers and many other measuring instruments. We are certified for the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes.

For MSA equipment, our technicians are trained to perform the installation, repair and calibration of this life protecting gas detection equipment.
